Majik will be sidelined for about 2 to 3 weeks.  He suffered an injury to his stifle while he was loading on the trailer Thursday afternoon!  We don’t think that his injury is too serious, however it is enough that he will get some time off!  He does love the extra pampering he is getting!  Lots of red light, cold water hose downs and if this is at all possible, even more treats.

My other horses Lady and Star will be able to split the time I usually give to Majik!  It will be good to give them so extra time and attention this next month.  Gandalf and Junior will also get some extra time but not quite as much. I informed Lady and Star today!  I’m sure they will be up for the challenge.  LOL!!   I think they snorted in unison!  Star did really great tonight for the evening rounds in the rain.  Lady was awesome as usual.  Not sure she likes the ride times we are having as they are double what she normally gets.  Still met me at the gait tonight, so I think all is good!

Majik will make an appearance at the workshop next Saturday however he won’t be able to demonstrate any of his techniques. He does love attention, however!!!

As much as I will miss the rides and play Majik and I have almost every day, I am very grateful to have him with me.  As I was riding Lady this morning doing the chores Major and I usually do from horseback, Major was looking at us very intently.  We were able to ride over to him in the pasture and give him some of the carrot we were eating.  He attempted to walk over and meet us however you could tell he was a little stiff.  He loved the carrot and proceeded to rub his head on my leg to scratch the itches he had.

He is looking better tonight, much better  than he was last evening, even picking up a trot tonight for a couple of steps.  (His idea, but it means the leg isn’t hurting as much!) He walked the rest of the way out of the barn at a pretty good clip.  All great signs!!   No heat and the swelling is down considerably.
