Thanks to everyone for the positive energy and words of encouragement for Star!  It is very much appreciated! Star went to the vet hospital on Friday afternoon!  She was a real trooper!  Loaded on the trailer and rode by her self with no fuss!  Settled into her stall at the hospital and began eating her grain & hay!

She has had two treatments. The wound did get into her joint.  The good news is that’s that there is a lot of clear drainage.  The concern is that there is still a lot of drainage!  We have been able to stay ahead of any infection. We saw her yesterday right after a treatment & she  was very groggy from the sedative. We were told that today Star was alert & very curious about the goings on in the hospital. She even was full weight on her injured foot.  We will see her tomorrow!

Because of the drainage, Star will stay at the  hospital until at least Tuesday.  A reevaluation will take place then.  Cross your fingers that she will be able to come home!  We don’t know what her future will be until she begins to heal, however we are just hoping that she can come home soon to be with us and her herd mates!
