2nd Annual Parelli Institute Benefit Play Day & Picnic

Thanks to everyone who came out in support of our 2nd Annual Parelli Institute Benefit Play Day & Picnic. The day was a perfect summer day! New obstacles were added to the Honeycomb Arena including our car wash, noodle gate, ring of fire, & a swimming pool. There were 11 obstacles in all & two acres of pastures around the Honeycomb open to ride, play, or graze the horses.

This low key and low stress day was spent in & around the Honeycomb with a beautiful breeze coming in from the north east & intermittent clouds for most of the day. Several spectators set up chairs under the pine trees & observed the day.

The online practice & challenge was held in the morning. Dan gave a couple of 1/2 hour private lessons during the practice time. The horses were really connected to there humans. Several of Hollyberry Farm’s horses were helping a spectators have even more fun.

Lunch was served on the screened in porch & was a good break for the horses & humans. We had hamburgs, hotdogs, & lots of good food provided by the participants & spectators.

Shortly after lunch we learned what knot to know and played 45 foot rope toss, quick draw, & honker down in the shade of the pine trees.

We then saddled up for practice & competition for the riding challenge. The riding competition was really fun & challenged the riders and horses to seek a new level of leadership. The swimming pool was a big hit with almost all of the horses at least touching the pool/water with a nose, neck, and maybe the feet. At the end of the day two free lessons from the raffle were awarded.

It was a great day filled with awesome people, horses, & horsemanship. We say this every time it seems, however this was the best group ever! Everyone was a winner on this day!!

Christa & Dan would like to thank all who made this day possible & we really appreciate all the support received for the Parelli Education Institute!
